Overview

• The Colorado Bureau of Investigation secured July 29 warrants accusing Jesus Damian Nieblas of 28 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child and 27 misdemeanor counts of failing to report abuse.
• A July 10 search of Nieblas’s Norwood home uncovered 27 videos depicting child sexual abuse, prompting the statewide investigation.
• Nieblas, 28, resigned from the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office in late June just before the CBI opened its probe.
• Officials believe Nieblas has left San Miguel County and report no evidence that local children were victimized.
