CBI Dismantles Two Nashik Call Centres Targeting UK Citizens, Arrests Two

Investigators now focus on tracing proceeds routed through PayPal, with banking channels under review.

  • Ganesh and Shyam Kamankar were arrested and produced before the Special CBI Court in Thane, which remanded them to CBI custody until September 15.

  • CBI searches in Nashik and Kalyan recovered victim data, fake policy scripts, eight mobile phones, eight computer systems or servers, and Rs 5 lakh in unexplained cash.
  • Investigators say about 60 employees used VoIP, caller-ID spoofing, and forged documents to obtain victims’ card details and payments.
  • A case was registered on September 11 against four private persons, unknown public servants, and others, with further investigation into fund flows and wider links underway.
