CBI Dismantles Fake Amazon Call Centre at Nashik Resort, Five Arrested

Investigators now analyse seized devices to map accomplices, trace laundered funds, identify bank collusion

  • Five Mumbai-based operatives were detained during the August 10 raid at Rainforest Resort in Igatpuri, including Vishal Yadav, Shehbaz, Durgesh, Abhay Raj and Sameer alias Kalia alias Sohail.
  • Authorities recovered 44 laptops, 71 mobile phones, ₹1.20 crore in cash, 500 grams of gold, seven luxury cars and cryptocurrency vouchers in the operation.
  • The call centre employed 60 operators, and authorities intercepted 62 employees on live phishing calls targeting US and Canadian victims.
  • CBI teams are analysing data from hundreds of seized devices to unravel the network’s modus operandi, trace laundered funds, identify bank-official collaborators.
