CBI Court Sentences SRS Firms, Six Directors in ₹152-Crore Canara Bank Fraud

The order follows a CBI probe that found loan funds were funneled through dummy firms, causing quantified losses to Canara Bank.

Overview

  • Rajesh Singla and Anil Jindal received five years’ rigorous imprisonment with fines of ₹1.2 lakh each, while Bishan Bansal and Nanak Chand Tayal got five years with fines of ₹80,000 each.
  • Seema Narang and Dheeraj Gupta were sentenced to four years’ rigorous imprisonment with fines of ₹40,000 each, and the two SRS companies were fined ₹50,000 each.
  • The case was registered by the CBI on July 14, 2020 following a complaint from Canara Bank’s Circle Office in Karnal, Haryana.
  • Investigators found SRS Real Infrastructure fraudulently availed a ₹42 crore credit limit causing a ₹41.95 crore loss, and SRS Real Estate drew ₹110 crore and diverted ₹93.20 crore through non-genuine entities.
  • The court convicted all accused on December 22, 2025, and pronounced sentence on January 13, 2026, directing that the sentences run concurrently.
