CBI Brings Back Punjab Fugitive From UAE Through Interpol Coordination

  • An Interpol Red Notice was issued on 13 June 2025 at the request of Punjab Police, after which UAE authorities arrested him and approved extradition.
  • The CBI functions as India’s Interpol National Central Bureau and coordinates domestic agencies via the BHARATPOL platform for international assistance.
  • According to officials, more than 130 wanted individuals have been repatriated in recent years through these channels, as India also secured election to Interpol’s Asian Committee for 2025–29.
