Overview

• The 50-year-old suspect, also known as ’Bhai,’ was apprehended by CBI agents from a secret North 24 Parganas hideout after evading arrest since August 2021.
• The FIR followed the May 2, 2021 killing of BJP activist Abhijit Sarkar during post-poll violence in Kolkata’s Narkeldanga area and named Dey as the lead accused.
