Overview

• On August 11, the CBI arrested Executive Engineer Jai Prakash, Assistant Engineer Prabhat Chaurasiya and contractors Shubham Goel and Rajesh Goel during the collection of a ₹6 lakh bribe in Chanakyapuri.
• An FIR filed on August 11 names 12 suspects—eight CPWD engineers, three private individuals and the company Shubham Electricals—over the alleged bribe network.
• Investigators seized roughly ₹55 lakh in cash during raids at 10 sites as part of the operation.
• According to the FIR, officers demanded ₹1.52 crore in kickbacks on pending bills, with fixed percentage shares allocated to executives, junior engineers, accounts staff and clerks.
• Further questioning of additional CPWD engineers and asset-tracing efforts are underway to chart the full extent of the corrupt network across multiple Delhi subdivisions.
