CBFC Mandates Edits to 'Chhaava' Ahead of Release

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has required several edits to 'Chhaava,' including muting specific words and altering dialogues referencing Mughal history.
A scene depicting Maratha warriors in sarees has been removed, and an audio-text disclaimer has been added to clarify the film's historical adaptation.
The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, portrays the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and features Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, with Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale.
'Chhaava' is set to release on February 14, 2025, following a rescheduled date to avoid clashing with 'Pushpa 2' in December 2024.
Advance bookings have generated ₹4.24 crore, with strong interest in Maharashtra and Telangana, despite mixed reactions to the trailer.
