Overview
- The Confederação Brasileira de Futebol scheduled Carlo Ancelotti to announce a 26‑player squad on Wednesday, September 9 at 15:00 Brasília time from the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro with a live stream on CBF TV.
- The first call‑up will cover three Super Data FIFA friendlies: Australia in Townsville on Sept. 25 and in Brisbane on Sept. 29, followed by a debut match against India in Calcutta on Oct. 3.
- The CBF also confirmed two November matches in Singapore on Nov. 14 against Japan and Nov. 17 against the host nation, chosen in part because many European and African teams have confederation commitments that month.
- Ancelotti and the CBF selection staff have been scouting players across the Campeonato Brasileiro, continental club competitions and European leagues and plan to prioritize younger players with a majority drawn from clubs in Brazil.
- The program is framed as the start of a new cycle after Brazil’s exit at the 2026 World Cup and is meant to test options, strengthen team identity and expand depth ahead of continental and World Cup qualifying campaigns.
