Overview
- The CBF is staging the draw at its Rio de Janeiro headquarters at 11:00 a.m. Brasília time on Tuesday and will stream the event on CBF TV (YouTube) and on SporTV.
- Eight clubs—Atlético-MG, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Internacional, Palmeiras, Santos, Vasco and Vitória—are the remaining teams in the competition.
- All teams are placed in a single pot with no restrictions, so the draw can produce state derbies or same-city matchups while also fixing the bracket to the final and who hosts each quarterfinal leg.
- Quarterfinal first legs are scheduled for August 26–27 and second legs for September 2–3, and each club has already earned R$9 million for reaching this stage with semifinal qualification worth an additional R$9 million.
- The quarterfinals will introduce semi-automatic offside technology and several newly approved arbitration rules, changes that could alter how key calls are made and affect match outcomes.
