CBF Draw Sets Copa do Brasil Quarterfinals With Three Regional Classics

The Tuesday draw fixes the bracket, assigns home venues, introduces semi-automated offside, raises the financial stakes for semifinal qualification.

  • The CBF draw, which took place Tuesday, Aug. 11, produced four quarterfinal ties: Grêmio v Internacional, Cruzeiro v Atlético-MG, Vasco v Vitória and Palmeiras v Santos.
  • Home/away order and the full path to the Dec. 6 final were defined in the draw, with Vasco hosting the first leg at São Januário and Vitória hosting the return at Barradão.
  • Quarterfinal first legs are scheduled for the week of Aug. 26–27 and second legs for Sep. 2–3, with semifinal dates and a single-match final set on the CBF calendar.
