CBF Completes First SAOT Test at Maracanã, Prepares Multi-Stadium Rollout

Overview

• The initial validation ran during Fluminense vs Botafogo on February 12 and the system’s outputs matched the on‑field calls by referee Rafael Klein in two reviewed situations.
• Test images reconstructed complex offsides, including Renê appearing ahead of Alex Telles and Luciano Acosta remaining onside with Alexandre Barboza keeping the defensive line.
• Referees did not have access to the technology’s images during testing, which remained outside the official match flow.
• Further test rounds will be conducted at the Maracanã before broader deployment across additional venues.
• CBF plans installations at Arena do Grêmio, Arena MRV, Allianz Parque, Arena Fonte Nova, Vila Belmiro and Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia, with implementation financed under its contract with Genius Sports.
