Overview

• Cavaliers president Koby Altman has signed a multiyear extension through the 2029-30 season alongside GM Mike Gansey and assistant GM Brandon Weems.
• Since his appointment as general manager in 2017 and promotion to president in 2022, Altman has overseen the draft selections of Darius Garland and Evan Mobley and the acquisitions of Jarrett Allen and Donovan Mitchell.
• Under Altman’s leadership and Coach of the Year Kenny Atkinson, Cleveland achieved the league’s third-best record over the past three seasons and secured the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed in 2024-25.
• This offseason the Cavaliers added veteran playmaker Lonzo Ball, re-signed guard Sam Merrill and brought back forward Larry Nance Jr. to bolster their rotation.
• Entering the 2025-26 campaign over the NBA’s second luxury-tax apron will limit Cleveland’s flexibility for future role-player signings and trades.
