Catholic University Fires Professor for Inviting 'Abortion Doula' to Lecture

Catholic University of America has terminated the contract of Professor Melissa Goldberg who invited an 'abortion doula' to guest lecture for a class.
The guest speaker, Rachel Carbonneau, founder and CEO of Family Ways, identified herself as an 'abortion doula' and discussed topics such as 'seahorse births' and the use of gender-neutral language.
University President Peter Kilpatrick stated that the content of the class did not align with the university's mission and identity, leading to the termination of Goldberg's contract.
Carbonneau, who also works with transgender clients, encouraged students to normalize talking about 'pregnant men' and use 'gender-neutral language'.
Following the incident, the university has barred Carbonneau from being invited back to speak.
