Catholic Junior College to Relocate Near Punggol Digital District, Targeting 2034 Opening

The move is part of MOE’s JC rejuvenation push to place students closer to industry and research.

Overview

  • MOE and CJC announced on Jan 16 that the college will shift from Whitley Road to a site near the Singapore Institute of Technology, with operations tentatively beginning in 2034.
  • The relocation falls under the second phase of the Junior College Rejuvenation Programme, which also covers Anglo-Chinese JC, National JC and Victoria JC.
  • CJC signed MOUs with the Cyber Security Agency, JTC, NParks, National Youth Council, Pathlight School and SIT to launch joint initiatives starting in 2026.
  • The Catholic Church’s lease for the 6.6ha Whitley Road campus expires in August 2029 and will be extended until the college moves.
  • Plans include configurable learning spaces and greater access to nearby sports and recreation facilities, with a committee to study how to preserve and relocate significant heritage elements.
