Catalonia's Economy Grows 2.4% Year on Year in Q3 as Quarterly Momentum Quickens

Regional output trailed Spain annually, exceeding national and EU gains on a quarterly basis.

  • All major sectors contributed to growth, led by construction with a 4.9% year-on-year increase.
  • Services rose 2.4% year on year, driven by hospitality, warehousing and transport-linked activities, security, research and professional services.
  • Industry expanded 1.9% year on year, supported by pharmaceuticals, automotive and machinery, as INE reported a 5.5% rise in September industrial production in Catalonia.
