Overview

  • On the morning of June 16, an infrastructure failure between Vilanova i la Geltrú and Cunit halted trains on the R2 Sud, R14, R15, R16 and R17 lines.
  • Renfe reports service interruptions and average delays of about 15 minutes as trains remain stopped pending repairs.
  • Ongoing station upgrades at Sant Vicenç de Calders have completely cut rail services between Cunit and Torredembarra and disrupted the R4 line through El Vendrell.
  • Passengers traveling between Barcelona and Tarragona now face up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of journey time involving mandatory bus transfers.
  • Adif technicians are on site working to restore track integrity, and Renfe’s substitute bus services are expected to run through at least June 18.
