- Twenty projects selected from 83 municipal bids will receive a combined €412 million, benefiting an estimated 273,519 residents through upgrades running at least to 2029.
- The Generalitat will contribute €232.71 million, or 56% of the total, with municipalities funding the remainder under caps that vary by city size.
- Five Barcelona-area cities will share €51.5 million from the regional government plus roughly €47 million in local funds, for about €100 million to improve areas including Ciutat Vella and neighborhoods in Mataró, Sant Joan Despí, Santa Coloma and Santa Perpètua.
- Projects center on housing rehabilitation, energy efficiency, local services and community programs, with each city creating a local office to manage delivery and coordinate with the regional commissioner.
- A second call opens in May 2026, while in parallel the government readies a housing buildout of up to 214,000 homes, including about 100,000 protected units financed with roughly €8 billion, coordinated by Incasòl and backed by new fast-track urbanism measures across 179 preselected sectors.
