Overview

  • Mossos d'Esquadra’s criminal investigation division dismantled three independent crews tied to at least 19 residential burglaries between late August and late October, detaining eight suspects.
  • The groups used rental cars registered to third parties to move quickly across multiple comarcas and focused on isolated rural or residential houses.
  • A four-person cell aged 23 to 26 was detained on 27 October in Calella, Manlleu and Tordera, with searches recovering jewelry, watches and tools allegedly used in the break-ins.
  • Two 24-year-olds linked to two Torà incidents were arrested after residents foiled one attempt, while another duo aged 24 and 27 was intercepted on 25 September in L'Hospitalet and is accused of at least nine break-ins across Baix Llobregat, Vallès and Alt Empordà.
  • In a separate case, a 37-year-old man without fixed address was arrested the night of 4 November in Sant Joan Despí on suspicion of about 60 trastero burglaries in Cornellà, Sant Joan Despí and Sant Feliu, with tools seized and court processing under way.
