CAT to Resume Normal Service Monday After Weather Suspension

The agency says all services return to regular schedules on Feb. 2.

Overview

  • Chatham Area Transit suspended all operations Sunday because of hazardous weather, affecting fixed-route buses, Mobility Paratransit, the Savannah Belles Ferry, the DOT Shuttle, and the call center.
  • Normal operations will resume Monday, including the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center and CAT Central offices.
  • CAT says the weekend shutdown began at 10 a.m. Saturday as a safety precaution due to a projected winter storm.
  • Paratransit riders are being notified by phone about Sunday trips, and reservations are still accepted at 912-351-5266 or through the online platform.
  • Service updates are available via text alerts, social media, and CAT’s website, with text sign-ups by sending RIDECAT to 41411.
