Overview

• Free travel began on September 1 for all residents on 284 metropolitan and interurban routes across the nine provinces, following early access for under‑15s since July.
• The Junta reports more than 200,000 card requests, with about 75% of applicants already recognized for access to the service.
• Additional lines are scheduled to join on September 15 and September 30, and officials say they expect full coverage of 2,610 regional routes and 395 concessions by the end of the month.
• The Buscyl pass is issued primarily in digital QR format via buscyl.es, physical cards are on hold, and users without smartphones will receive a printed QR by mail.
• Initial activation covers the metropolitan areas of Burgos, León, Salamanca, Segovia and Valladolid plus 201 interurban routes in Ávila, Palencia, Soria and Zamora, with validators already installed on roughly 2,000 buses.
