Castellón, A Coruña and Málaga Finalize Programmes for European Mobility Week

City campaigns seek to change travel habits by promoting walking, cycling, public transport, school routes, street closures, hands-on services.

Overview

  • Municipal programmes were finalised before the European Mobility Week running 16–22 September 2026 and will begin on Wednesday with events, exhibitions and neighbourhood outreach.
  • Castellón will inaugurate the new CEIP El Pinar Camino Escolar on 16 September, operate five itinerant mobility points with environmental educators and offer free bicycle inspections by Bicicas.
  • The city of Castellón will stage a Macrobicicletada Escolar on 18 September with about 265 pupils from local schools taking part in a supervised urban ride.
  • A Coruña will make plaza de Tabacos the hub for week-long activities and will close Concepción Arenal to motor traffic for the Día sin Coches on 22 September to host education and leisure events.
  • Málaga will hold its Día sin Coche on Sunday 20 September by closing Paseo del Parque from 08:30 to 14:30 and running demonstrations and information stands from Policía Local, Protección Civil, EMT and the DGT.
