Cashius Howell Named Unanimous All-American as Texas A&M Preps for CFP Opener

The recognition crowns a breakout season for Texas A&M entering its first College Football Playoff.

Howell earned first-team status from all five major selectors—Walter Camp, AFCA, AP, Sporting News and FWAA—becoming the 11th unanimous All-American in program history.
He led the SEC with 11.5 sacks and posted 14 tackles for loss, six pass breakups and 29 tackles, collecting SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
The AP recognized three Aggies, with KC Concepcion and Howell on the first team and Ar'maj Reed-Adams on the second team.
Concepcion is a consensus All-American and Paul Hornung Award recipient after 57 catches for 886 yards and nine receiving touchdowns, plus two punt-return touchdowns and 460 punt-return yards.
No. 7 Texas A&M finished 11-1 and will host No. 10 Miami in a CFP first-round game Saturday at 11 a.m. CT at Kyle Field on ABC/ESPN, as debate continues over OL Trey Zuhn III’s omission from The Sporting News list despite his Jacobs Blocking Trophy.
