Case Registered After Geeta Colony Scuffle Over Alleged Dog Bite in Delhi

Police say the dispute escalated when a resident called in acquaintances from outside the locality.

  • A PCR call at 11:03 pm on the night of Dec 29–30 came from Rizwan alias Raju, who reported that neighbour Neelam Singhal’s pet dog bit his househelp, Sarthak Negi.
  • An initial argument involving Singhal, her 17-year-old daughter, Rizwan and his mother was followed by a group confrontation, according to police.
  • No visible injuries were observed on either side, and both parties were sent for medical examination as part of procedure.
  • On Singhal’s complaint, police registered a case under BNS sections 74, 115(2), 126(2), 325 and 3(5), along with the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, naming Rizwan and others.
  • A video circulating on social media shows people from both groups wielding sticks, and police say normalcy has been restored as the investigation continues.
