• Robert D. Neumann, 43, of Cary, faces one count each of aggravated arson and residential arson, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
• Deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. Monday to the 35300 block of North Summitt Place and found the home fully engulfed.
• A 911 caller reported someone leaving the house with a gas can, and the description led deputies to locate Neumann.
• Investigators say he rented space above a detached garage on the property, and a search recovered a nearly empty gasoline can.
• The homeowners were away from the weekend retreat, and two firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze.
