Carolina Hurricanes Launch Team-Owned Broadcast Network

Centralizing production under vice president Mike Sundheim, the club has not yet disclosed distribution partners or a direct-to-consumer subscription plan.

Overview

  • The organization formally named its planned channel and staff during announcements on Sept. 1–2 and confirmed that the core on-air team — Mike Maniscalco, Tripp Tracy, Hanna Yates and Shane Willis — will return for the 2026–27 season.
  • Vice president of communications Mike Sundheim will run HHN’s production, sales, marketing and distribution functions for the club, which will keep control of broadcast operations in-house.
  • The Hurricanes said 12 regular-season games will be carried on national telecasts and that 72 remaining regular-season games are slated to air on the team’s new platform.
  • Hanna Yates will shift into an expanded broadcast and digital host role to deliver more behind-the-scenes television and social content for the team.
  • The club has not yet released specifics on which cable or satellite providers will carry the channel or the price and launch details for a direct-to-consumer streaming subscription, a gap that will determine how and where fans can watch and may trigger negotiations with distribution partners.
