• The Hall named Kaye a 2025 inductee in April under its Musical Excellence Award category.
• In a mid-June Facebook post, the 90-year-old bassist said she would not attend because the individual honor didn’t capture the collective nature of studio work.
• Kaye denounced the “Wrecking Crew” label as insulting and said she never identified with the moniker used for 350–400 AFM Local 47 Hollywood musicians.
• She is set to receive the Musical Excellence Award in absentia at the Nov. 8 ceremony in Los Angeles alongside Thom Bell and Nicky Hopkins.
