• Festival organizers named the former Locarno and Berlinale chief as president of the international competition jury for the 38th edition running Oct. 27–Nov. 5, 2025.
• During his Berlinale tenure, Chatrian replaced gendered acting awards with gender‑neutral categories for leading and supporting performance.
• In a statement, Chatrian called the role a privilege, thanked TIFF leadership, and said he looks forward to discovering the selection and collaborating with fellow jurors.
