Jacoby Brissett, a 32-year-old free-agent quarterback, plans to sign with the Arizona Cardinals to serve as Kyler Murray's backup.
Brissett has started 53 games in his NFL career, playing for teams including the Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, Browns, and Commanders.
He worked with Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing in Cleveland during the 2022 season, where Petzing was his quarterbacks coach.
Last season, Brissett started five games for the Patriots before being replaced by rookie Drake Maye, finishing the year with 826 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
The Cardinals aim to strengthen their quarterback depth after relying on backups during Murray's absence in 2023 due to a torn ACL.
