Cardiff E-Bike Crash Riot Defendants Appear in Court

Thirteen individuals face charges related to the 2023 Ely riot following the deaths of two teenagers in an e-bike crash.

Kyrees Sullivan, 16, and Harvey Evans, 15, died on May 22, 2023, after crashing an e-bike while being followed by South Wales Police
The incident sparked a riot in Ely, Cardiff, involving around 200 people, resulting in injuries to 32 police officers and significant property damage.
Thirteen people appeared in court on Thursday, with all released on unconditional bail and due to appear at Cardiff Crown Court on October 21.
Charges have been brought against 31 individuals in total, with 27 facing riot charges and four accused of causing or threatening to cause criminal damage.
The Crown Prosecution Service emphasized the importance of a fair trial and warned against prejudicial commentary or sharing of information online.
