Overview

• The female driver, rescued shortly after the collapse, is able to walk and is undergoing further medical checks at Raffles Hospital PUB isolated two damaged water mains and fully restored supply to about 18 households by 2:30 am on July 27
• A crane lifted the vehicle from the 2–3 m deep sinkhole at around 2 pm after water was pumped out to assess ground stability
• The Land Transport Authority has kept Tanjong Katong Road South closed between Mountbatten Road and the East Coast Parkway with bus services 36 and 48 diverted
• PUB is working with the Building and Construction Authority and LTA on a cause investigation and has called an island-wide safety time-out for similar sewer shaft projects
