Car Plunges Into Potomac River After Arlington Memorial Bridge Crash

A driver was critically injured after their vehicle veered off the bridge into icy waters following a collision with another car during a snowstorm.

The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. on Thursday on the Arlington Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C., during snowy conditions.
A vehicle involved in the crash went over the bridge railing and sank into the icy Potomac River, leaving the driver in critical condition.
Emergency responders rescued the driver from the submerged car within approximately 20 minutes and provided advanced life support before transporting them to the hospital.
Two individuals in the second vehicle involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
