Overview

  • A car parking lift plunged into a seven-metre-deep pit at the 21-storey Om Prathamesh Building around 11:08 am on May 31, trapping two men.
  • Mumbai Fire Brigade crews rescued Shubham Madamlal Dhuri, 30, and Sunjeet Yadav, 45, and rushed them to BDBA Shatabdi Hospital.
  • Dhuri was declared dead on arrival and Yadav sustained a head injury but is now in stable condition after undergoing a CT scan.
  • Earlier on May 31 in Vikhroli, 26-year-old Tejas Naidu was killed when an aging tree fell on him at Ganesh Maidan.
  • Following a May 20 building collapse in Kalyan East, these incidents have intensified public concern over infrastructure maintenance and emergency response.
