Car crash north of Sacramento kills one adult, seriously injures nine children

An adult died and nine children were injured after a car struck a tree in Northern California.
The crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. on May 31, 2023 in the Northgate area of Sacramento.
Witnesses reported that two adults and nine children between the ages of 3 and 8 were in the vehicle.
Ten ambulances transported the victims to local hospitals where the children and one adult remain in serious or critical condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by Sacramento police.
