Overview

  • As of August 10, all IAVE devices beginning with the 009 prefix have been deactivated at federal toll plazas, forcing non-upgraded users to pay in cash
  • Drivers must verify their tag’s serial number and replace any device starting with 009 to retain automatic toll payments and access exclusive telepeaje lanes
  • Tag renewal can be completed via Capufe’s portal or at authorized modules for a 90-peso fee, with options for home delivery or in-person pickup
  • The new IAVE tag features faster, more precise readings, enhanced durability and compatibility with ongoing system updates under the Cero Efectivo initiative
  • Capufe’s interoperability agreement also accepts Televía, EasyTrip, PASE and ViaPass tags, broadening electronic payment options ahead of the January 2026 cash-only mandate
