Capstan Station Opens on Canada Line in Richmond

The $62 million SkyTrain station serves the growing Capstan Village area, projected to house 16,000 residents.

Capstan Station, located between Bridgeport and Aberdeen stations on No. 3 Road, officially opened on December 20, 2024.
This is only the second time TransLink has added a station to an existing SkyTrain line, following Lake City Way station in 2003.
The station was funded through a $62 million cost-sharing agreement, with over half of the funding coming from developer contributions via the City of Richmond.
TransLink plans to increase Canada Line capacity during peak travel hours to address potential overcrowding.
The Capstan Village area, where the station is located, is rapidly developing and expected to accommodate 16,000 residents in the near future.
