Capitol Riot Suspect Fires at Police, Charged With Felony

Nathan Donald Pelham, who was charged with misdemeanors for entering the Capitol on Jan. 6, shot at sheriff's deputies who came to his house.
Pelham had agreed to surrender to the FBI on the Capitol riot charges when contacted by an agent.
Pelham allegedly entered the Capitol wearing Proud Boys gear but denied affiliating with the extremist group.
Pelham was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, facing up to 15 years in prison on top of penalties for the misdemeanors.
Though over 1,000 have been arrested in the Capitol attack, Pelham's case is an outlier.
