Capitol Police Seize Assault Rifle in Traffic Stop, Arrest Driver

US Capitol Police at a routine security checkpoint confiscated an assault-style rifle from a man driving a delivery truck.
The driver, Michael J. Donohue, did not appear to be targeting Congress or planning an attack, police said.
Donohue is charged with possession of an unregistered firearm and ammunition, as well as unlawful activity.
Assault rifles and weapons of all kinds are prohibited from the Capitol grounds and complex.
