Capitals Recall Bogdan Trineyev, Place Nic Dowd on IR

A retroactive IR designation opened a roster spot, giving the 23-year-old his first NHL look.

Washington made the move Wednesday after Nic Dowd missed four games with an upper-body injury, placing him on IR retroactive to Nov. 17 to create roster space.
Bogdan Trineyev, 23, has 12 points in 15 games for Hershey and leads the Bears in plus-minus this season.
He is expected to serve as the extra forward rather than debut immediately, with Sonny Milano and Ethen Frank remaining on the fourth line.
Trineyev took warmups in No. 87 against Winnipeg but did not play, later receiving an ovation in the postgame locker room.
A 2020 fourth-round pick with KHL experience, he has earned penalty-kill duty and second-unit power-play time in Hershey and is now eligible for NHL duty as injury insurance.
