Capcom Sets October Release for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Capcom says new content, a planned Switch 2 port, free patches removing microtransactions, performance fixes will help rebuild player trust.

Overview

  • Capcom confirmed in mid‑July that Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will launch in early October with release dates reported as October 8–9 across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • The expansion adds a new northern region called Norgan, a 15–20 hour storyline and twelve standalone dungeons designed to create more than 25 hours of fresh content and a repeatable Relic loot loop.
  • A late‑June update already removed many early microtransactions and introduced the Eternal Ferrystone, which grants unlimited fast travel as an optional convenience.
  • Capcom plans a larger free update in late August to improve performance, add multiple save slots, clarify and add cures for the Dragonsplague mechanic, and introduce pawn behavior and quality‑of‑life tweaks with a target of a 60 fps performance mode on consoles.
  • The Switch 2 version was added later in development and early testing is exceeding expectations with minimum 30 fps in many scenes, a sign Capcom hopes its combined content and fixes will restore players’ confidence while preserving the series’ deliberate difficulty.
