Capcom Says Resident Evil Requiem Won’t Repeat Monster Hunter Wilds’ PC Problems

The company says different architecture removes the risks seen with Wilds on PC.

Overview

  • In an investor Q&A, Capcom said Requiem differs in gameplay, system architecture and network features and is being built to run smoothly across a wide range of PC specs.
  • Producer Masato Kumazawa confirmed the game began as an online open‑world multiplayer project roughly six years ago but was reworked into single‑player after the team judged the horror to be too mild.
  • Some systems from the early multiplayer build remain in the final game, though the team has not disclosed what they are.
  • Kumazawa called circulating Leon S. Kennedy images, including an eyepatch photo, “fake news” and urged fans to wait for official information.
  • Players will be able to switch between first‑ and third‑person views, no playable demo is planned, and the game launches February 27, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
