Capcom Revives Onimusha Series with New Game and Remaster

A remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is coming in 2025, while a new mainline entry, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, is set for release in 2026.

Capcom announced a remaster of the 2002 PS2 classic Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, launching later this year on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
The remaster follows the 2019 re-release of Onimusha: Warlords and will feature updated visuals and controls, though specific enhancements have not yet been detailed.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first new mainline entry in the series since 2006, is scheduled for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The upcoming game will introduce a new protagonist, a dark fantasy Edo-period Kyoto setting, and a focus on cinematic, fast-paced sword combat.
