Overview
- Capcom officially unveiled Resident Evil Veronica at Summer Game Fest and confirmed the project is a full remake of Code: Veronica developed on the studio’s RE Engine.
- Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said the game is a traditional third-person experience and that the reveal trailer’s first-person scenes were an intentional surprise, not reflective of gameplay.
- Capcom is positioning Veronica as a mainline-quality release and plans to modernize systems and presentation in the spirit of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes.
- Claire Redfield’s portrayal will be a modest evolution from her Resident Evil 2 remake appearance, set three months after the Raccoon City incident and showing some training from Chris Redfield.
- The game is slated for release in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, and Capcom has not confirmed whether Steve Burnside will appear in the remake.
