Overview
- The Canyon Fire ignited around 2 p.m. Thursday near Holser Canyon Road southeast of Lake Piru and has since burned roughly 400 acres of dry brush.
- Ventura County issued mandatory Level 3 evacuation orders for areas immediately north and south of Lake Piru and Level 2 warnings for neighboring communities.
- Los Angeles County placed Val Verde, Castaic Basin and surrounding areas under Level 2 evacuation alerts as the blaze approached the county line.
