Overview

  • The framework rests on five pillars covering ownership and authenticity, veracity of claims, consequences for misrepresentation, independent oversight and transparency.
  • All 2026 submissions must secure senior approvals from both the entrant agency’s business leader and the commissioning brand’s marketer.
  • Entries will face a two-tier fact-checking system combining AI screening with human review to verify campaign data and impact.
  • An independent Integrity Council will arbitrate disputes, revoke awards at any stage and impose bans of up to three years on agencies found to have misrepresented their work.
  • Cannes Lions will publish annual public Integrity Audits and release an AI Integrity Handbook based on OECD and UNESCO standards to clarify acceptable use of synthetic media.
