The Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival is introducing 'Cannes Remakes', a showcase for European feature films successful in their home territories.
Set for May 20, the event will feature a pitching session for IP titles from France, Spain, and Italy, followed by networking opportunities.
Partnerships include France's National Cinema Centre (CNC), Spain's Institute of Cinematography & Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), and Italy's Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual.
The initiative seeks to tap into the growing market for film remakes and adaptations, driven by global streaming services.
'Cannes Remakes' is supported by Creative Europe MEDIA and aims to encourage diverse, global storytelling through various language adaptations.
