Cancún Operation Seizes 44 Firearms and Drones as Two Suspected CJNG Logistics Leaders Are Arrested

The case now moves to the specialized narcotics prosecutor after a coordinated SSC–Navy patrol in Quintana Roo.

Overview

  • Authorities identified the detainees as Marcos Josué “N” and Ángel Roberto “N,” known as “El Flaco,” who are accused of running local logistics for the CJNG.
  • Agents say they observed the men exchange a large bag of green plant material and intercepted them on Avenida Sin Nombre in Benito Juárez after an attempted escape.
  • The seizure included 32 long guns and 12 handguns, 125 rifle magazines, two suppressors, four anti-riot grenades, four chemical grenades, and dozens of boxes of ammunition.
  • Officials also listed drones, ballistic vests, CJNG-branded clothing, phones, notebooks, Jalisco license plates, and two vehicles among the items recovered.
  • State authorities describe the haul as one of the largest in northern Quintana Roo and link the suspects to distributing arms across Benito Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Lázaro Cárdenas, and Isla Mujeres.
