Canadian Solar to Invest $800M in Indiana Solar Panel Factory, Creating 1,200 Jobs by 2025

New facility set to reach full production by end of 2025, producing 5 gigawatts annually; plant supported by up to $10.1 million in state incentives,including tax credits and training grants.

Ontario-based Canadian Solar Inc. is investing $800 million in a new solar panel factory in Jeffersonville, Indiana, creating approximately 1,200 jobs by 2025.
The factory is set to commence production by end of 2025, with a projected output of about 20,000 high-power solar panels daily.
The facility will be located at the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville, a city along the Ohio River and just north of Louisville, Kentucky.
The solar cells manufactured at the Jeffersonville facility will be shipped to Canadian Solar’s module assembly plant in Mesquite, Texas.
The project has received up to $9.7 million in tax credits and up to $400,000 in training grants from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
