Canada-U.S. Border Crossing Hours to Change in 2025

The Canada Border Services Agency will adjust hours at 35 land ports of entry starting January 6, 2025, to enhance resource efficiency and security.

The CBSA's changes are coordinated with the United States to improve security and resource allocation.
Adjustments are based on analyses of operational pressures and peak periods at border crossings.
Most affected ports of entry process fewer than two vehicles per hour during the hours being cut.
Travelers will have alternative border crossing options within a 100 km radius of affected ports.
The initiative supports the mutual enforcement of the Safe Third Country Agreement between Canada and the U.S.
