- Province- and territory-specific times are set, including Ontario at 12:55 p.m. EST, B.C. at 1:55 p.m. PST, and Manitoba at 1:55 p.m. CST on Wednesday.
- Messages will interrupt television and radio and reach compatible LTE-connected phones, and they will be clearly marked as a test requiring no action.
- Some phones may not receive the alert due to compatibility, LTE connectivity, coverage, software, or notification settings.
- On many devices the alert tone may require acknowledgement or will sound and vibrate for about eight seconds, with accessible formats available depending on device capability.
- The system is tested regularly and has been used frequently in 2025 for weather and AMBER alerts issued by authorized agencies.
